Western lawmakers are weighing proposals to potentially eliminate gun-free zones in places such as public schools. This would allow guns in schools, in hopes of avoiding mass shootings that often happen. Lawmakers who support this proposal are using the Second Amendment of the Constitution, which gives citizens the right to bear arms, in their favor.
There is already much controversy surrounding the subject of guns and gun control in general, but now there is a whole new question to be debated: Should teachers be allowed to carry concealed weapons in school? This is something that needs to be carefully weighed out. You can read more about it in the Do Now entitled “Should Teachers Carry Weapons?”
KQED asked students: Should we allow teachers to carry concealed weapons like hand guns? Why or why not?
There are a vast range of opinions regarding this subject. Many students felt that it is best to not arm teachers, because accidents happen.
@KQEDedspace #DoNowGun #mrsrfauhs Teachers shouldn’t be able to have guns, bc that gives more access for students to the lethal weapons.
